Medical Student Medical Documentation Course
After training thousands of scribes the fundamentals of the medical note, we realized that medical students and other students entering clinical rotations could also greatly benefit from medical documentation training. The Medical Scribe Training Systems' Medical Student Documentation Course is based on the primary care medical scribe course, since medical school rotations are predominantly primary care fields. The materials have been adapted to provide medical students with the documentation background they need to be successful in the clinical setting. Early mastery of the documentation process allows you as a medical student to focus more quickly on the medicine and more interesting facets of your education. Preparation for the USMLE Step 2 is nerve-wracking enough, so using this online course to become comfortable with the patient note means prepping for the Step 2 CS will focus on important clinical skills.
Our medical student documentation course isn't just for current medical students either. The US medical system is unique, and graduates of international medical education and other international students often face big hurdles becoming accustomed to documentation requirements in the US. What better way to get a head start on medical documentation than completing training online?
This program is currently based on the Ultimate Medical Scribe Handbook-- Primary Care Edition. This book is available on Amazon and is a required companion to the medical student documentation course. Development of the Medical Student Documentation Course Textbook is underway and should be available in the fall of 2019. The skills learned in this course will be used throughout your medical career. Taking the time now to master and internalize this skills will serve you well in the future. Keep in mind that these materials have been adapted from the medical scribe course, so from time to time there will be mention of scribes or "scribing" in some lectures. We continue to work toward eliminating these sporadic references.
If you are interested in taking this course prior to medical school or have any questions about this course or other Medical Scribe Training Systems courses, please contact us.
